Like Nate Pearson (Staunton 2016) a couple days ago, former Front Royal Cardinal Randy Dobnak (2015) has been bumped up a level, from High-A Fort Myers to Double-A Pensacola!
So while Dobnak is not a “big-name” prospect like Pearson, he dominated the Florida State League all the same. In four starts and 22 1/3 innings, he went 3-0, 0.40, with a 0.99 WHIP, 1.6 BB/9, and 5.7 K/9. He gave up only one run, and that came in his fourth start.
Called up to Pensacola and slated to start last Saturday, Randy gave up 2 earned runs in 4 innings in his Double-A debut.
(By the way, one of Randy’s new teammates is none other than former New Market Rebel Jimmy Kerrigan (2014). Jimmy is currently on the injured list.)
