Nagle Having Terrific Year

Aidan Nagle, formerly known as the 2019 Valley League MVP, is having a terrific year for Lewis-Clark State.

With 127 at-bats under his belt, he’s hitting a robust .394/.466/.764, with 39 runs scored, 14 doubles, 11 home runs, 50 RBIs, and a very good 16 walks against only 22 strikeouts. He’s second in the Cascade Collegiate Conference in batting average (behind his own teammate, Riley Way) and slugging percentage (behind another teammate, Matt James), and fourth in on-base percentage. He’s sixth in runs scored, tied for second in doubles, and tied for first in home runs. He also leads the league in RBIs. The Warriors are currently 31-3, and are well on their way to postseason play. The squad starts a set against the College of Idaho today.

Nagle laid waste to the Valley in 2019 for Woodstock, putting up some of the best numbers that the League has ever seen. Over 160 regular season at-bats, he hit .406/.492/.675, with 47 runs scored, 10 doubles, 11 home runs, 33 RBIs, a 23/26 BB/K ratio, and nine stolen bases. Then in the playoffs, he went 8-20, with nine more runs, another double, a triple, three home runs, six RBIs, four more walks, and another stolen base, almost leading the Bandits to the finals. He was named MVP of the league, of course, and ATVL named him the top hitter in the league… along with first team All-Decade.

Hopefully the redshirt junior will hear his name called in the MLB draft this summer!
