Joey Butler (New Market 2006) made his major league debut last season with the Texas Rangers, so his callup isn’t quite as dramatic as Eric Campbell’s, but it’s still pretty awesome to get a second chance to make a good impression.
Joey earned his callup, like Eric, by pounding the ball in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. Joey hit 360/481/547 in 86 at-bats to get the call to help the major league club.
He’ll play sparingly, probably, but he may get a spot start every now and then, and if he does, it will probably be in right field. He’s struck out in his only at-bat so far.
