Covington at Strasburg cancelled. Four inches of rain?!?
Hitter of the Day

Our hitter of the day is Front Royal’s Nick Sinay, a rising junior at Buffalo, who is batting leadoff (very well, too) for the Cards. Last night, Nick went 4-6, with a run and an RBI. For the season, he’s hitting a robust 381/594/381 in 21 at-bats so far. That high on-base percentage is what you want out of your leadoff hitter!
Others of Note
Chris Stevens, Front Royal: 3-4, run, RBI, BB, 2B
Richie Ricciardi, Staunton: 2-4, run, RBI, BB, SB
Gunnar McNeill, Staunton: 2-4, RBI, BB
Michael Landestoy, Winchester: 2-3, RBI, BB, 2B
Matt Rose, Harrisonburg: 3-4, run
Pitcher of the Day
Four starters had very good games last night, but the best one was turned in by Waynesboro’s Jeff Schank, a rising sophomore at Butler (the Generals have a pipeline to Butler!). Jeff threw 6 shutout innings, and allowed only 2 hits, walked one, and struck out 9

to earn the win against Aldie. That line earns a 76 game score. On the season, Jeff is 2-0, 0.69, with 16 K’s in 13 innings.
