Six games played last night, with a TON of offense, as you can see, brilliant reader, if you scroll down a bit. A total of 29 hitters are mentioned today, along with 7 pitchers. This post looks like it will take me a while!

Staunton 3, Woodstock 2
Woodstock 13, Staunton 9

Waynesboro 9, Covington 5
Charles Town 3, New Market 1
Hitter of the Day

As I’ve mentioned, there were many, many amazing hitting performances last night; however, the choice was still pretty simple. The hitter of the day is Strasburg’s Sky Overton, from Furman, who went 5-5, with 3 runs, an RBI, and a double. Five hits in 5 at-bats so seldom happens that Sky was an easy choice. For the season, he’s hitting 276/394/345 in 87 at-bats, along with a 9/16 BB/K ratio.

Pitcher of the Day
It’s amazing that there were any good pitching performances at all after that barrage, but of course, not every game was a hit-fest.
Our pitcher of the day is Charles Town’s Jean Acevedo, from Tabor College, who threw his second straight complete game for the Cannons. Against New Market, Jean allowed 7 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and struck out 7 to earn the win and a game score of 75. He’s now 2-2, 3.80 over 26 innings, while allowing 26 hits, 4 walks, and striking out 18 for the summer.
