James Yezzo had a monster season in Winchester in 2012. He hit 16 home runs, tied for the second most since 2004, and 21 doubles, making him the only player to top 20 doubles in a season (again, since 2004). ATVL named him the best hitter in the league for that year.
Yezzo was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 7th round of the 2013 draft, and in his first full professional season, assigned James to Hagerstown in the South Atlantic League.
Last night, James had, arguably, his best night in pro ball, as he went 3-4 with a single, 2 home runs, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs. For the year, he’s hitting 255/284/373 in 81 games and 314 at-bats. He has 11 doubles, a triple, 8 home runs, 36 runs, 35 RBIs, and a 10/53 BB/K ratio.
Congrats on the excellent game, James!
