Mike McClellan Columbus State 2014ATVL’s #12 hitter, Michael McClellan, from Columbus State, not only had a fantastic regular Valley League season in 2014, but he’s a main reason the Waynesboro Generals won a second straight Jim Lineweaver Cup.

First of all, Michael hit 311/396/511 in the regular season in 135 at-bats, along with 27 runs, 42 hits, 9 doubles, 6 home runs, 36 RBIs, 4 stolen bases, and a 11/26 BB/K ratio. His slugging percentage was good for 6th place in the league.

He really saved his best for last, though, as he hit 433/485/500 in the playoffs. He was 13-30, and added 9 RBIs in 8 games played. It’s not a coincidence that the Generals hoisted the trophy at the end of the season.

The sophomore had an excellent freshman campaign at Columbus State last year. In 47 games and 169 at-bats, he hit 373/495/669, with 9 doubles, a triple, 13 home runs, 36 runs, 43 RBIs, and a 28/40 BB/K ratio.

It’s plain to see that this kid can hit! Congratulations on your excellent summer, Michael!
