Yeah, I know. Wins, as a stat for individual pitchers, just isn’t all that important. The win should be given to the team, and not an individual. I know, I know. But as long as we have the stat, I’ll at least put this list together for you, brilliant reader.
So, here we are:
| 1 | Dustin Umberger | Luray | 2007 | 9 |
| 2 | Clarence Nicely | Covington | 2005 | 7 |
| Robert Gilliam | Luray | 2007 | 7 | |
| Jon Dages | Waynesboro | 2007 | 7 | |
| Andy Altemus | Waynesboro | 2008 | 7 | |
| Taylor Sandefur | Waynesboro | 2010 | 7 | |
| Matt Benedict | Haymarket | 2010 | 7 | |
| Greg Welsh | Winchester | 2011 | 7 | |
| Jonathan Armold | Front Royal | 2011 | 7 | |
| Dillon Ortman | Harrisonburg | 2012 | 7 |
I am still astonished that Dustin Umberger won 9 games in 2007- he started 11 games that season. Amazing!
Umberger, Robert Gilliam, Andy Altemus, Matt Benedict, Jonathan Armold, and Dillon Ortman have all played pro ball, although Gilliam, Benedict, and Ortman are the only current ones.
Three from Waynesboro, two from Luray, and one each from Covington, Haymarket, Winchester, Front Royal, and Harrisonburg!
Saves are next!
