When the Rockbridge Rapids ceased operations after the 2013 Valley League season, the league was left with 11 teams. An odd number, of course, makes everything a bit more difficult. Scheduling, for example: with 11 teams, one squad would be off every night.
Well, the Valley League has taken care of that with the addition of the newly-monikered Charlottesville Tom Sox, who will begin play in the summer of 2015.
The team just settled on “Tom Sox” after a social media voting session that included the names Vines, Sabres, and Presidents. I must agree with the final choice.

(Sure looking forward to slipping over the mountain to watch a game next summer!)
