Mike McClellan, a junior from Columbus State, had an excellent summer in the Valley for the Waynesboro Generals in 2014. So much so, actually, that ATVL named him the 12th best hitter in the league.
Well, Mike hasn’t let up since then- he’s off to a tremendous start for the Cougars through 13 games. This is what he’s done: 353/414/843 in 51 at-bats. He’s scored 17 runs, hit one double, driven in 22 runs, and has an astonishing 8 home runs!
His best game so far was on February 14th against UNC Pembroke, ironically during a loss. He went 4-6, with 4 runs, 5 RBIs, and 3 home runs!
Not surprisingly, Mike was named Cougar of the Week for the week ending on February 22.
