My week got a little busy (a massive understatement), so we have a bit to catch up:
Starters Monday, April 27
- Scott Copeland (Staunton 2007), for AAA Buffalo: 5 IP, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 3 BB, 1 K, loss, 3-0, game score of 47. Scott is having a very strong year so far- he’s 2-1, 1.44.
- Tyler Thornburg (Winchester 2008), for AAA Colorado Springs: 3.2 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB. 4 K’s, win, 7-6, game score of 60. Tyler is back in the minors, probably to straighten things out to return to Milwaukee. This was his first appearance in the minors this year.
- Taylor Hill (Winchester 2008), for AAA Syracuse: 5.2 IP, 8 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 BB, 4 K’s, loss, 3-1, game score of 47. Taylor is 1-1, 4.09 for the season. I never noticed before that Thornburg and Hill played on the same Valley League team!
Starter Tuesday, April 28
- Matt Benedict (Haymarket 2009-10), for A Bradenton: 6 Ip, 8 hits, 3 earned runs, 0 BB, 2 K’s, loss, 3-1, game score of 46. Matt is now 2-1, 2.70.
Starters Wednesday, April 29
- Austin Gomber (Luray 2012), for A Peoria: 7 IP, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 BB, 4 K’s, loss, 5-4, game score of 63. Austin is 1-3, 4.76 on the year so far.
- Chad Kuhl (New Market 2012), for AA Altoona: 6 IP, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 Bb, 4 K’s, win, 6-5, game score of 56. Chad is 2-0, 1.64. I’m pretty excited about Chad’s future…
- Blaine Sims (New Market 2010), for A Lancaster: 6 IP, 8 hits, 4 earned runs, 5 BB, 0 K’s, win, 6-4, game score of 35. Blaine is struggling; he’s now 1-3, 11.42. Do keep in mind, though, that Lancaster is a really tough place to pitch…
