Chad Oberacker is one of only two active players in the minor leagues who played in Fauquier in the Valley League. The other, Ryan Dennick, made his major league debut in 2014. Oberacker is still toiling in Double-A, but with his start to the 2015 season, he may be moving up before too long.
After rapping out four hits on Saturday, Chad is hitting 364/434/596 in 99 at-bats in this young season. He has 10 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 17 runs scored, 17 RBIs, and a solid 13/23 BB/K ratio. This is Chad’s third season in Midland of the Texas League after being drafted in the 25th round in 2011.
He’s 26 years old now, and his 1.030 OPS is considerably higher than his career mark of .727, but Chad sure is pounding the ball so far. Here’s to maintaining this level all year!
