Our H.O.T.D. is Chris Akmon, from Strasburg and Missouri Columbia! Chris is off to a rocking start to his Valley League season. Last night, he went 3-4, with a run, RBI, double, and home run. Overall, he’s 8-23, with 5 of the 8 hits of the extra base variety. He’s slashing 348/423/826 in 23 at-bats. (Small sample size, sure, but look at that slugging percentage!)

This rarely happens, but the best outing last night was by a reliever- Daniel Johnson, from Charlottesville and
Charleston Southern! Daniel was dominant for the Tom Sox over 4 innings, as he didn’t allow a hit, walk, or run, and struck out 4. He earned the save. The 6-foot lefty has been close to unhittable this season; he’s 0-1, 0.77, with 8 hits, 1 walk, and 15 strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings so far.
