On the strength of two doubles, our hitter of the day is Front Royal’s Reynaldo Pastrana, from Marshall! Reynaldo went 2-4, with the aforementioned two doubles, a run, an RBI, and a walk. In limited time this spring for the Thundering Herd, Pastrana hit 280/322/439 in 82 at-bats.

Our pitcher of the day, with a game score of 61, is Front Royal’s Blake Whitney! Blake, a 6-foot-3 righthander from 
USC Upstate, threw 6 2/3 innings, and allowed 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, and struck out 7 to earn the win for the Cardinals. He threw 53 2/3 innings for the Spartans in 2016, and finished 0-4, 5.87.
