In our latest look at a former Valley Leaguer who is off to a hot start to his college season, we have Alec Aleywine (New Market 2017)!
Alec, attending Gulf Coast Community College, a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, is having the quite the season so far. After 22 games and 88 at-bats, Alec is hitting 398/448/727, with 23 runs, 35 RBIs, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, and a 6/26 BB/K ratio.
He’s also started 7 games on the mound, with more of a mixed bag of results. He’s currently 4-2, 7.20, with 36 hits, 17 walks, and 43 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched.
Alec was named 2nd team All-Valley at utility in 2017, and was the #15A hitter in the league according to this space. In the regular season for the Rebels, Alec hit 314/436/421 in 140 at-bats, with 34 runs, 33 RBIs, 6 doubles, 3 home runs, and an excellent 31/29 BB/K ratio (he also stole 8 bases).
Alec and his team play tonight against Tallahassee Community College.
