Another day. Another day closer to the Valley League season, another day closer to the end of the school year, and another day with three former VBLers who have done well in their college seasons.

Today we’ll take a look at Erick Delgado (Strasburg 2016-17), Keven Pimentel (New Market 2017), and Jack Barry (Charlottesville 2017).

  • Erick Delgado is having a fantastic year for St. Thomas, an NAIA school that currently has a 56-7 record. (!!!) He’s slashing 405/508/646 in 195 at-bats, along with 71 runs, 39 RBIs, 18 doubles, a triple, 9 home runs, an amazing 38/16 BB/K ratio… and even 14 stolen bases in 16 attempts. St. Thomas opens their attempt to win the NAIA World Series TONIGHT.
  • Keven Pimentel is one of the best pitchers for Devision II Tampa this season. A transfer from Miami, Keven went 9-2, 2.42, with a 1.077 WHIP, 1.8 BB/9, and 7.3 K/9 in 78 innings pitched. Even though Tampa went 42-11, their season has ended.
  • Jack Barry had an excellent season for a Salisbury team that ended 34-12. He hit 413/521/687 in 150 at-bats, with 47 runs, 33 RBIs, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 8 home runs, a 20/28 BB/K ratio, and 7 stolen bases. He led the team in doubles, home runs, average, on-base and slugging percentages… and even hit-by-pitches, with 16. He finished second in runs and hits.

Well done guys, and good luck tonight, Erick!
