Welcome to the last (besides the “on this day” pose coming in a few minutes) post before the coverage of the VBL regular season commences!

Today we will take a look at the last three players- Alec Aleywine (New Market 2017), Dupree Hart (Charlottesville 2016), and Drew Avans (Strasburg 2015-16)!

  • Aleywine, playing first base and also pitching for Gulf Coast State College, hit 353/406/603 in 156 at-bats, with 30 runs, 50 RBIs, 9 doubles, 3 triples, 8 home runs, and a 13/51 BB/K ratio.
  • Hart, the second baseman for Charleston, hit 326/402/434 this season. He added 39 runs, 21 RBIs, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, an excellent 24/21 BB/K ratio, and 15 stolen bases in 21 attempts.
  • Avans, a senior playing for Southeastern Louisiana, hit 330/462/568 in 206 at-bats, with 52 runs, 44 RBIs, 13 doubles, 3 triples, 10 home runs, a 45/39 BB/K ratio, and 23 stolen bases. He led his team in all three slash lines, doubles, home runs, walks, and stolen bases. He finished second in runs, hits, and RBIs.

Congrats to all three!
