Last night, two former Valley Leaguers helped the Hagerstown Suns tie Asheville at two games apiece in the South Atlantic League best-of-five championship series.
James Yezzo (Winchester 2012) had three hits, including a triple, and drove in 3 runs in the 6-3 victory, while Jake Johansen (Front Royal 2011) earned the win with 3 2/3 shutout innings.
Yezzo hit 270/306/406 in the regular season for the Suns, along with 22 doubles, 13 home runs, and 56 RBIs. Johansen had an up-and-down first pro season, going 5-6, 5.19, with a 1.74 WHIP in 100 2/3 innings pitched.
Congrats to both- and good luck tonight in the winner-take-all 5th game!
