Jonathan Griffin (Luray 2010) won the home run derby at the 2010 Valley League All-Star game.
Therefore, it was not too much of a surprise when he exploded for five home runs in five at-bats over two days, May 21 and 22, 2014, playing for Double-A Mobile.
Due to this outburst, Griffin was given a 2014 “Milby” for Best Performance in a minor league game. The Milbys are an awards series given out by milb.com, the official site of minor league baseball.
