Here is our last league record book entry! Don’t worry, though; we still have the minor league record book AND the major league record book to go….
So, the pitchers who appeared in the most games since the 2o04 season! (Bookended by Express pitchers!)
| 1 | Evan Kirsch | Strasburg | 2013 | 29 |
| 2 | Kyle Scallion | Front Royal | 2011 | 28 |
| 3 | Clint Ramsey | Front Royal | 2004 | 27 |
| 4 | Brandon Dickson | New Market | 2006 | 26 |
| Josh Squatrito | Staunton | 2008 | 26 | |
| Alex Adami | Covington | 2011 | 26 | |
| Adam Zipko | New Market | 2013 | 26 | |
| 8 | Joel Brookens | Front Royal | 2005 | 24 |
| Clinton McKinney | Luray | 2006 | 24 | |
| Jimmy Stanley | Waynesboro | 2007 | 24 | |
| Dan Gentzler | New Market | 2008 | 24 | |
| Tyler Sanders | Luray | 2009 | 24 | |
| Stephen Green | Woodstock | 2012 | 24 | |
| Adam Emerson | Strasburg | 2013 | 24 |
This is an interesting list in that not many have played pro ball. Brandon “Cotton” Dickson has played in the majors, and last year in Japan; Josh Squatrito and Dan Gentzler threw very briefly in the minors.
Anyone have any suggestions as why this might be the case? Only 3 out of 14?
Guessing most of them were relief pitchers, and draft picks are primarily starters?
Not always true. Relievers are drafted plenty. But a games appeared in record certainly is not a good indicator on why someone is or isn’t drafted
