Fresh off a fantastic season in which he was named the Seattle Mariners’ minor league pitcher of the year, Matt Brazis (Winchester 2009, 2011) has been traded to the Chicago Cubs for major league outfielder Justin Ruggiano.
Brazis was fantastic in 2014, going 4-1, 2.36, while allowing 54 hits, 18 walks, and striking out 84 in only 72 1/3 innings pitched combined in High-A High Desert and Double-A Jackson.
I think Brazis has a real shot to make the major leagues in 2015. He has a live arm along with positive results!
