Jeff Schank pitching high schoolATVL’s #4 starting pitcher in the 2014 season is none other than Jeff Schank, Waynesboro’s 6-foot-1 lefty from Butler!

Jeff was excellent for the 2014 Valley League champs, going 4-0, 2.09 in 10 games (7 starts) in the regular season. He threw 43 innings, and allowed 38 hits, 9 walks, and struck out 35. He allowed a .233 batting average, had a 1.093 WHIP, 1.9 BB/9, and 7.3 K/9. His ERA finished 3rd in the league. He also went 1-0, 3.27 in 11 innings in the playoffs.

He threw two scoreless starts in June- one on June 8th against Aldie, and the other on June 24th against Front Royal. On the 8th, he allowed 2 hits and 1 walk over 6 innings, while striking out 9. On the 24th, he allowed only 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7 in 7 innings pitched.

The current sophomore pitched in 15 games as a freshman in 2014 for Butler, with 6 of them starts. He went 1-3, 4.89, with a 1.79 WHIP, 3.6 BB/9, and 6.9 K/9 in 49 2/3 innings pitched.
