Front Royal 12, Aldie 0
Staunton vs Waynesboro postponed to Monday, 6/15
Hitter of the Day

Four hits, a home run, and 5 RBIs will win this award most days, and that’s exactly what Front Royal’s Chase Lunceford did against Aldie. Chase hit 328/433/561 for Hinds Community College as a freshman in 2014, and then 318/426/535 as a sophomore. I would say that he’s picked up right where he left off.
Others of Note
Bobby Lang, Front Royal: 2-3, run, 2 RBIs, 2B
Matthew Koehler, Woodstock: 2-4, 3 runs, 4 RBIs, BB
Spencer Holcomb, Woodstock: 3-5, run, 2 RBIs, HR
Jeffrey Scott, Strasburg: 2-4, 2 runs, RBI, BB, 2B
Drew Johnson, Strasburg: 3-4, run, BB, 2B
Christian Khawam, Charles Town: 2-3, 2 runs, BB
Tripp Shelton, Harrisonburg: 2-3, run, 2 BB
Aaron Dobson, Harrisonburg: 1-3, 2 runs, RBI, 2 BB
Pitcher of the Day
In the same way that 4 hits and 5 RBIs will most likely win the hitter of the day award, so will 5 no-hit innings win

the pitcher of the day. I’m writing, of course, about Matt Young, the 6-4 righthander for the Turks who blew the Covington Lumberjacks away last night with 5 no-hit, shutout innings, along with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. He earned the win in the 11-0 blowout. Matt is from the Oklahoma City pipeline to the Turks.

Aaron Howell, Front Royal: 3 IP, 0 hits, 0 runs, 3 BB, 5 K’s, the win vs Aldie
Patrick Coffin, Front Royal: 4 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB, 6 K’s
Michael Scimanico, Woodstock: 5 IP, 4 hits 1 earned run, 1 BB, 6 K’s, win vs Winchester
