For the Royals, John went 2-2, 2.49, with 7 saves, a 1.244 WHIP, 2.1 BB/9, and 8.7 K/9 in 21 2/3 innings pitched. His save total was tied for first in the league, and he was named the VBL D-Bat Player of the Week from July 12 to July 18.
John redshirted in 2015 at South Alabama, but has made his college debut already this year, throwing a clean inning against Evansville on February 20.
