The 2nd best reliever in the 2015 Valley League season is Winchester’s Matthew Smallwood!
Check out these numbers: Matthew went 4-1, 3.27, with 1 save, a 0.955 WHIP, 1.6 BB/9, and 13.9 K/9 in 22 innings pitched. He only walked 4 and struck out 34 in those 22 innings. His K/9 was the second highest (behind Chris Ward) on the list of pitchers considered for this list.
Matthew redshirted in 2015 at New Mexico, but he is not listed on the Lobo’s 2016 roster, and I was unable to locate him elsewhere.
Does anyone out there know where Matthew is? At any rate, he had a super Valley League season in 2015!
