Two former Valley Leaguers have been named the hitter of the week in their respective leagues, named by milb.com on Monday.

- Ben Verlander (Strasburg 2011, Staunton 2012) is the hitter of the week in the Florida State League for this: .538/.545/1.000, 7 G, 14-for-26, 5 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 13 RBI, 4 R, 4 BB, 3 K, 1 SB, 1 CS. Great week! Overall, Ben is hitting 255/311/400 in 255 at-bats, with 18 doubles, 2 triples, and 5 home runs.
- Jason Morozowski (Staunton 2013) is the best hitter in the Northwest League. This is what he did: .370/.414/.889, 7 G, 10-for-27, 2 2B, 4 HR, 11 RBI, 9 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 SB. Overall at Hillsboro (NWL), Jason is hitting 317/388/635 in 104 at-bats. Over three stops in 2016, he’s hitting 251/332/420 in 343 at-bats (he’s played for Hillsboro in the Northwest League, Kane County in the Midwest League, and in the Arizona League).
