Next up: wins above replacement, according to baseball-reference.com. As always, this is since the 2006 draft….
| 1 | Chris Perez | Staunton ’04 | 4.4 |
| 2 | Will Harris | Staunton ’03 | 4.2 |
| Tyler Thornburg | Winchester ’08 | 4.2 | |
| 4 | Brandon Beachy | Woodstock ’08 | 3.1 |
| 5 | Chris Devenski | Woodstock ’11 | 2.8 |
| 6 | David Carpenter | Covington ’04 | 2.0 |
| 7 | Chad Kuhl | New Market ’12 | 1.1 |
| 8 | Josh Edgin | Winchester ’07 | 1.0 |
| 9 | Adam Liberatore | Waynesboro ’07-8 | 0.6 |
| 10 | Robby Scott | Covington ’10 | 0.3 |
Chris Perez again leads. Harris and Thornburg, with decent seasons in 2017, should slip past Perez. Beachy is still a free agent. Look at Devenski! He earned 2.8 WAR in one season, and jumped to #5. With another season like that, he could finish ’17 as #1 as well.
Chad Kuhl and Robby Scott both made their debuts in 2016, and finished on the list.
We will move to seasonal records for pitchers next!
