Collegiate Baseball has released their preseason Division-I All-Americans, and as usual, a few former Valley Leaguers have appeared on the list. (I got the list from collegebaseballdaily.com)
These three have made the cut:
- On the second team at first base, Kevin Woodall, from Coastal Carolina (New Market 2015). Kevin hit 262/373/557 in 221 at-bats for the Chanticleers in 2017, along with 11 doubles and 18 home runs. In his 3 years there, he’s at 251/365/479 in 334 total at-bats.
- On the third team at second base, Wade Bailey, from Georgia Tech (Harrisonburg 2015). Wade hit 347/420/538 for the Wreck in 2017, and has hit 307/371/431 over his three years, over 691 at-bats.
- Also on the third team, but at third base, Sam Fragale, from Virginia Tech and Charles Town (2015). Sam hit 310/372/615 in 2017 over 213 at-bats, along with 14 doubles, 3 triples, and 15 home runs. In his three years, over 488 at-bats, he’s hitting 273/338/490.
Hopefully all three players will get drafted this coming June!
