I think it has been established that Jacob Rhinesmith can hit.
Coming off a 407/461/675 line in 231 at-bats for Indian Hills Community College in 2017, Jacob came to New Market and joined the Rebels. In 127 regular season (summer) at-bats, Jacob hit 369/438/549, and then added on a 7-14 stretch in the playoffs. He even had probably the best line of the season on July 15th, when he finished 6-6, with 3 runs, 2 doubles, and 6 RBIs. ATVL named him the 6th best hitter in the league.
After his excellent summer, Jacob moved to Western Kentucky to join the Hilltoppers, and he’s off to a great start through the team’s first 13 games. In 54 at-bats, Jacob is hitting 370/414/667, with 10 runs, 2 triples, 4 home runs, 13 RBIs, and even 3 stolen bases. He leads the team in every one of those categories except on-base percentage (he’s 3rd in that).
Congratulations on this excellent start, Jacob!
