In our Monday look at a former Valley Leaguer who is performing well in the college ranks, we have former Strasburg Express Brandon Quaranta (2016-2017)!
Brandon is well know to anyone who spends time perusing these pages. Over both summers of 2016 and 2017, including the playoffs, Brandon has hit 339/438/647 in 74 games and 295 at-bats. He has scored 70 runs, driven in 88, and hit 20 doubles and 23 home runs. He won the Home Run Derby in 2017, and has been named first team All-Valley both years (at utility in ’16, and at DH for ’17).
Now, playing for the newly-named Jefferson Rams in college, Brandon is off to a hot start this spring. In 12 games and 40 at-bats, Brandon is slashing 375/480/975, with 13 runs, 17 RBIs, 1 double, 1 triple, and an incredible 7 home runs. (In fact, he’s tied for 8th in home runs in all of Division-II.)
He pitches, too, and has 2 saves and a 1.29 ERA in 7 innings so far.
Congrats, Brandon- keep it up!
