On this day in valley League history in 2016, Strasburg’s Drew Avans went 4-4 against the Woodstock River Bandits, with 2 doubles, 2 runs, a walk, and an RBI.
Drew played in Strasburg in both 2015 and 2016, and was drafted this June out of Southeastern Louisiana in the 33rd round by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Drew went 11 for his first 28 pro at-bats in the Arizona League, and has already been moved up to Ogden in the Pioneer League. (He went 1-4 with a walk and 2 stolen bases last night, in fact.)
