On July 6th, 2015, Aldie’s Jake Brodt went 4-5, with a double, 2 runs, and an RBI against New Market. Jake went on to hit 269/287/369 in 130+ at-bats that summer.
After a senior season in which he slugged .555 with 15 home runs for Santa Clara, Jake was picked in the 9th round of the 2018 draft- just a few weeks ago- by the Toronto Blue Jays. He has been assigned to Vancouver in the Northwest League, and is currently hitting 233/233/302 in 43 at-bats there.
