All five games were played last night, with one offensive explosion (Turks), two wonderful pitching performances, and three guys who walked three times…

(The multi-home run game has become almost normal over the past week or so.) Paul, who is planning to attend Jacksonville this fall, is now hitting 219/298/395 in 114 at-bats this summer.

Pitcher(s) of the Day
So we have two guys who tied with a game score of 78, which ties both of them for the 3rd best start of the entire season:
- Strasburg’s Chance Hroch, from New Mexico State: 8 innings, 1 hit, 2 runs, 1 earned run, 0 walks, and 4 K’s, win, 102 pitches. Chance is now 2-1, 2.91, with 33 K’s in 37 summer innings.
- Purcellville’s Will Wheeler, from USC Upstate: 7 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, 4 walks, and 7 K’s, win, only 51 pitches! (Could that be an error? Only 51 pitches to get 21 outs is pretty impressive.) Will is now 2-2, 2.27, with 21 K’s in 27 2/3 innings for the Cannons.
