Hitter(s) of the Day

Amazing hitting in the second game of the doubleheader between Front Royal and Woodstock:

  • Our first HOD is Front Royal’s Spencer Packard, from Arizona Western, who went 5-5 in that 2nd game, with 3 runs, 2 RBIs, and 3 doubles. He’s now hitting 349/497/523 in 109 at-bats, with an amazing 30/20 BB/K ratio to boot. He was also HOD on July 11th.
  • The second HOD is also from Front Royal, and also from the 2nd game- this one is Brandon Krennrich, from UNC Central. Brandon went 2-4, with 3 runs, 6 RBIs, and 2 home runs. (As all of you know, ATVL loves those multi-home run games!) Brandon is now hitting 265/346/412 in 68 at-bats.

  • First, the highest game score goes to Waynesboro’s Fred Villarreal, from Houston. Fred threw 9 innings against Charlottesville while allowing 4 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), and 2 walks with 10 strikeouts. He earned a game score of 81. Fred is now 1-2, 2.66, with 34 K’s in 27 innings pitched this summer.
  • The second highest belongs to Front Royal’s Gabriel Ponce, from San Diego, who earned a game score of 72 after 7 shutout innings against Woodstock. He allowed 2 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 2. It only took 51 pitches to complete the 7 innings! Gabriel is now 2-0, 2.57, with 27 K’s in 28 innings pitched.
