Former Strasburg Express Peyton Plumlee (2016), from Mississippi State, was named first team All-League in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League this summer at starting pitcher. Knocking off the rust from a year suspension, Peyton was truly outstanding for the Amsterdam Mohawks, going 4-0, 2.32, with a 8/43 BB/K ratio and only 22 hits allowed in 31 innings pitched.
Peyton was also excellent for the Express in 2016, and was named the league’s 10th best starter in these pages after going 5-0, 2.46, with a 1.199 WHIP, 4.2 BB/9, and 7.4 K/9 in 36 2/3 innings.
Presumably, Plumlee will return to Mississippi State and will be eligible to pitch this spring. Congratulations!
