Jeremy Cook, the 13th best reliever in the 2018 VBL season, is, by far, the most decorated reliever on the list.
After the season, Jeremy made all three prospect lists; ATVL named him #8, Perfect Game #4, and Baseball America listed him as the best prospect in the entire league. The 6-foot-1 lefthander from Miami certainly has the ingredients to move on to the next level of baseball, as he can run his fastball up to 94 mph, and he also has a sharp slider and a developing curveball.
Cook surely was difficult to hit for Staunton:
| Stan | ERA | W | L | G | SV | IP | H | R | ER | BB | K | BAVG | WHIP | BB/9 | K/9 |
| 2018 | 3.04 | 4 | 2 | 20 | 1 | 23.7 | 15 | 16 | 8 | 18 | 41 | 0.183 | 1.392 | 6.8 | 15.6 |
Among pitchers on this list, he finish 9th in innings pitched, tied for 9th in batting average against, and 3rd in K/9. He struck out 2 in a shutout inning at the All-Star game, and also pitched an inning at the Prospect Showcase in North Carolina.
Here are his freshman stats for Miami:
| Miami | ERA | W | L | G | SV | IP | H | R | ER | BB | K | WIP | BB/9 | K/9 |
| 2018 | 4.58 | 0 | 0 | 22 | 0 | 19.7 | 21 | 11 | 10 | 20 | 18 | 2.081 | 9.1 | 8.2 |
Jeremy has the stuff to quickly earn a crucial role in the Hurricanes’ bullpen in 2019, and begin to show up on prospect lists!
