2018’s winner is Reed Garrett (New Market 2013)! Reed, pitching out of the bullpen in Frisco of the Texas League, went 3-1, 1.69, with 16 saves, a 1.01 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 9.7 K/9 in 42 2/3 innings pitched. Reed was named a mid-season and post season All-Star in the Texas League. He also finished his minor league sason in Triple-A. A 16th round draft pick of the Rangers in 2014 out of VMI, Garrett went 2-1, 5.36, with a 1.440 WHIP, and 2.5 BB/9 and 9.5 K/9 in 25 innings for the Rebels waaaaay back in 2013. He has been drafted in the Rule 5 draft by the Detroit Tigers… so he may make his major league debut this summer.
