2018 Double-A Pitcher of the Year

Today we have ATVL’s Double-A Pitcher of the Year selection- from the Southern, Eastern, and Texas Leagues!

Reed Garrett Round Rock 20182018’s winner is Reed Garrett (New Market 2013)! Reed, pitching out of the bullpen in Frisco of the Texas League, went 3-1, 1.69, with 16 saves, a 1.01 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 9.7 K/9 in 42 2/3 innings pitched. Reed was named a mid-season and post season All-Star in the Texas League. He also finished his minor league sason in Triple-A. A 16th round draft pick of the Rangers in 2014 out of VMI, Garrett went 2-1, 5.36, with a 1.440 WHIP, and 2.5 BB/9 and 9.5 K/9 in 25 innings for the Rebels waaaaay back in 2013. He has been drafted in the Rule 5 draft by the Detroit Tigers… so he may make his major league debut this summer.
