Saturday’s Games, Spotlight on Miller and Arias

Lots of good performances in Divison-I baseball yesterday, including four guys who had four hits in one game, and a few good pitching performances over seven innings.

First, focus on Richmond’s Tim Miller (Charlottesville 2018) and Texas-San Antonio’s Bryan Arias (Harrisonburg 2016-17):

  • Miller threw 7 shutout innings for Richmond while allowing 2 hits, 3 walks, and stirking out 6 to earn his 4th win of the year. He’s been excellent all year for the Spiders, and is now 4-1, 2.75, with a 1.10 WHIP, 3.9 BB/9, and 8.2 K/9 in 55 2/3 innings pitched.
  • Arias had four hits in six at-bats, with 3 runs, a double, home run, and 2 RBIs. A preseason All-American (3rd team), Bryan is hitting 356/455/531 in 160 at-bats, with 38 runs, 12 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, 28 RBIs, an excellent 28/26 BB/K ratio, and 8 stolen bases in 11 attempts.
