Hitter and Pitcher of the Day, Sunday June 2

Alas, the rain begins already.

Poor Strasburg had its home opener rained out, which is never a good sign. Unsurprisingly, New Market’s game was rained out too.

Well, such are the issues in a league that is as close together as this one.

(By the way, this post is earlier than normal due to some travelling, and tomorrow’s post might be a little later than usual.)

Hitter of the Day

No one should be surprised that the hitter of the day comes from the 18-run, scoreboard-bursting team performance by the Charlottesville Tom Sox. In fact, it’s Charlottesville’s Cayman Richardson, from the University of Virginia, who went 4-5, with 4 runs scored, 2 RBIs, a triple, and a hit-by-pitch. Cayman hit 270/328/356 in 163 at-bats for the Cavs this spring.
