Hitter of the Day

Our hitter of the day is Waynesboro’s Wes Clarke, from South Carolina, who is the only hitter with more than one extra-base hit. Wes went 2-4 last night, with 3 runs scored, 2 doubles, a walk, and 2 RBIs. Wes is now hitting .397, and has hit double figures in runs, RBIs, walks… and doubles. He’ll probably have 10 hit-by-pitches in a few weeks, too.

Pitcher of the Day

In the best start of the year so far, the pitcher of the day, Front Royal’s Shane Scott, ironically from Fort Scott Community College (and a signee of Arkansas Tech), threw a complete game shutout. He allowed 5 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 7 to earn a game score of 83. He’s now 2-1, 2.27 this summer, with a 1.260 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9, and 5.3 K/9 in 35 2/3 innings pitched.
