Hitter of the Day

In a relatively easy call, the hitter of the day is Waynesboro’s Brad Burckel, from Houston. Brad went 3-4, with 4 runs, 2 walks, a double, triple, and 3 RBIs in the Generals’ shellacking of the Front Royal Cardinals. Brad is pretty new to the league- he has only 25 at-bats so far- and he’s hitting 240/367/440.

The pitcher of the day is Waynesboro’s Luke Short, from Walla Walla (signee of St. Mary’s). Luke threw 4 solid innings in relief for the Generals last night, allowing 1 hit, 1 unearned run, 1 walk, and struck out 4 to earn the win. Luke is now 2-0, 2.57, with 18 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched.
