The hitter of the day, for the second time four days, is Strasburg’s Tyler Johnson, from Eastern Oklahoma State JC. Johnson went 4-5, with two runs, a double, home run, and three RBIs in the Express’s win. Pitcher of the Day
The pitcher of the day is West Virginia Tech’s Calyb King, who threw a complete game for Covington against Winchester. Throwing just 99 pitches, King allowed five hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck out five go earn the win and a game score of 77. He set up the Jacks well, as everyone will be rested heading into a doubleheader against Waynesboro today. King is now 3-1, 3.03, with 28 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings pitched this summer. This is also his second POTD award; he was the best pitcher the night of June 12th, when he threw six no-hit, shutout innings.
