Interestingly, seven of the nine on the history list pitched in the major leagues.
The 2019 Double-A Pitcher of teh Year is Tyler Zombro (Staunton 2014), who pitched in Montgomery of the Southern League in 2019. He went 2-0, 1.87, with a 0.88 WHIP, 1.1 BB/9 and 8.3 K/9 in 57 2/3 innings. He started three games and saved 11. His 7/53 BB/K ratio wasn’t quite the best of all pitchers considered for this list (Randy Dobnak, below), but it was incredibly good.
