Two members of the 2019 Strasburg Express are off to excellent starts for Eastern Oklahoma State College, helping the Mountaineers to a 12-2 start to the 2020 season.
- Christian McGowan, a sophomore righthander, is currently 3-0, 1.00 in 18 innings, while allowing only five hits, four walks, and striking out 35. For those scoring at home, that’s a 17.5 K/9. His first start of the year was a five-inning perfect game- no big deal. He was also named the NJCAA Pitcher of the Week for February 17-23. He’s committed to Kansas State for 2021.
- Tyler Johnson, a sophomore first baseman/outfielder who has committed to Coastal Carolina for 2021, has played in all 14 Mountaineer games, slashing .306/.468/.694 in 36 at-bats, with 13 runs scored, a double, two triples, three home runs, 12 RBIs, and an even 10/10 BB/K ratio. He leads the team in runs and homers. He was ATVL’s 10th best hitter in the 2019 VBL season.
