After that almost-unbelievable first round upset last week- seriously, 213 votes!?! Wow!- we have the next match. This one is between Logan Onda (Harrisonburg 2014) and Joshua Andrews (Front Royal 2017).

  • Logan Onda came to the Turks after his dominating junior season at Texas San-Antonio. In 30 games, all but one in relief, Onda went 3-2, 2.34, with eight saves, a 1.10 WHIP, 1.6 BB/9, and 7.9 K/9 in 61 2/3 innings. For the Turks, then, he slipped right back into the same role, and went 5-1, 1.30, with four saves, a 0.866 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9, and 8.8 K/9 in 27 2/3 innings. ATVL named him the third best reliever in the league. After another good season for the Roadrunners in his senior year in 2015, Onda’s pitching career ended. His career college stats ended up at 8-10, 4.27, with 11 saves, a 1.51 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9, and 6.4 K/9 in 179 2/3 total innings.
  • Josh Andrews came to Front Royal in 2017, after his sophomore season at Grand Canyon. He was named ATVL’s third best reliever that summer, after going 2-1, 0.68, with a save, a 0.875 WHIP, 4.4 BB/9, and 15.7 K/9 in 26 1/3 innings for the Cardinals. He led the league with that K/9, which came from 46 strikeouts in those 26 innings. Over his four years at Grand Canyon, Andrews went a combined 2-2, 6.06, with a 1.61 WHIP, 6.6 BB/9, and 10.3 K/9 in 49 innings. He did not pitch in pro ball after college.
