The New York Yankees have traded lefthander James Reeves to the San Diego Padres for outfielder Greg Allen.
Reeves was a member of the 2013 Staunton team, in the summer of his sophomore year at The Citadel. He struck out 31 batters in 33 Valley League innings covering five starts. He was drafted by the Yankees in the 10th round in 2015, and has performed at a high level in his five years in the minor leagues- going a total of 20-7, 2.30, with a 1.060 WHIP, 3.4 BB/9, and 10.7 K/9 in 293 1/3 innings.
The Padres have assigned Reeves to Triple-A El Paso.
