The latest transaction involving a former Valley Leaguer happened yesterday when Tommy La Stella (Haymarket 2009) signed a three-year, $19 million free agent contract with the San Francisco Giants.
La Stella split 2020 between the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland A’s, hitting a combined .281/.370/.449 in 55 games and 228 plate appearances, with 14 doubles, two triples, five home runs, and a ridiculous 27/12 BB/K ratio.
Back in 2009, La Stella helped the Senators to the VBL title, hitting .303/.347/.443 in 51 total games and 201 at-bats, with 10 doubles, six home runs, 37 RBIs, seven stolen bases, with 14 walks and 13 strikeouts.
