Like Bennett Hostetler (Covington 2018) before him, Joshua Cox has been named the Summit League player of the week.
Cox, a member of New Market in 2019, is a junior outfielder at Oral Roberts. In the week of April 5, he hit .529 in a four-game set with Western Illinois, along with six runs, four RBIs, and three doubles.
Through 34 games this season, Cox is hitting .301/.364/.471 in 136 at-bats, with 27 runs scored, nine doubles, a triple, four home runs, 20 RBIs, 13/21 BB/K ratio, and eight stolen bases. In 2019 for New Markt, he hit .323/.373/.426 in 155 at-bats, with 29 runs, five doubles, four triples, a home run, 15 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases (with only four caught stealing).
