On May 5th, one of Kansas City’s top prospects, righthander Jonathan Bowlan made his Double-A debut for Northwest Arkansas in the Central Division (this is going to be awkward until we learn these new minor leagues well enough).

Well, it was a fantastic debut; Bowlan completed five shutout innings, allowed four hits and one walk, and struck out 10. Bowlan is currently the Royals’ 8th best prospect, according to MLB.com.

Bowlan pitched for New Market in 2016, when he went 2-2, 4.83 in 31 2/3 innings, with 23 walks and 29 strikeouts.

Perhaps he will be the next Valley Leaguer to make his major league debut?
