Former Staunton righthander Ryan Meisinger (2014) has pitched in 20 major league games in his career, so he would be forgiven if his finishing off a Triple-A no-hitter was not at the top of his list of best memories, but it’s still pretty cool.
On Sunday afternoon, May 9, Meisinger threw a hitless ninth inning to finish off the Iowa Cubs’ 15th no-hitter in franchise history. Click here to see video of the last out.
So far in 2021, Meisinger has allowed one run in two innings of work. Back in 2014, he went 2-1, 4.14 for Staunton, with 40 strikeouts in 37 innings pitched.
